Earlier this week I was talking about different adjectives for occupations in an intermediate level conversation class for grades 4-6.

When we got to the adjective "dangerous", I gave a few examples of what it meant, then asked for more examples. One student said police officer. When I asked why it's dangerous, he said you can get shot from criminals. Another said firefighter because you can get burned to death (not their exact words).

Another student piped up "Noraebang yeo ja... uh... Doumi girl!" Another immediately said "Room Salon girl!"
I immediately changed the subject; this is not a conversation I want to have with elementary school students. But what I do want to know is: how do they know about this stuff? Anyone have similar stories?

They hear their parents arguing. The mom screaming about dad cheating/spending all their money on Room Salon prostitutes, blah blah within earshot of the kids on a drunken weekend evening.

There's an 안마 upstairs from my school. I'm not sure my kindy kids know what it is, but it has the same name as one of my students.
