He walked away and came back with the money. so I am not sure. He may have been renting the meat section now that I think of it. Stores do that in Korea, rent a part of the store out. I did return the money at the meat section and as I said, he wasnt there at the time I returned the money. I know it didnt come from the main cash register in the front of the store, so it was either out of his own pocket , or from the meat section, which he may have had control of.

That right there would be your mistake. He might be trying to scam him, but he also may not have gotten the money. Unless you're sure that the person you gave the money to gave him the money, you should give him the 100,000 won.

When my Korean friend called the store and talked to them, it was confirmed that the 100,000 was received. That is not an issue.

And after all , it was over four months ago that this happend and I go to that store everyday. Clearly, someone isnt going to forget about 100,000.

It was also confirmed by my Korean friend , that he did in fact try to extort me and the guy called and apologized to me.

He wasnt a stranger on the street , I said I talked to him outside his store while he was smoking. We were not strangers to each other, I worked in the building next to him , and I am the only non-Korean in the neighborhood and the only reason he lent the money in the first place was that he knew absolutely where to find me.

My Korean friend believes that he was operating on the idea that I would be afraid to seek help from my employer and otherwise wouldn't have anybody to help me through this.

The man was wrong about that.

Just curious what did you need at 10:00 p.m. that couldn't wait until the next morning at 8:30 or so? I were we talking water? Food? or money for a night out?

If you know the ATM's close at 10 then um....is it so far fetched to plan for these situations or do what I do I have chon won jar and shove my thousand won bills in there now and again for emergencies.

If they tried to shake you down that sucks but borrowing from a casual acquaintance is not particularly a good idea especially in a foreign country.

Could it be that since he helped you out when you needed money that he is now unemployed and in need of money and thought he could ask you for a loan? Just asking.

Are you sure it was a shakedown and not a request for a loan? After all, you do have a penchant for seeing conspiracies where none exist.

He did not offer that explanation to my Korean friend. If that were the case, he would have used that as an excuse to get out of the problem.

No conspiracy in the Kennedy Execution? How many people believe that? You and three other people in the whole world?

The Secret Service failed to protect the President that day. Sadly when the shots rang out the Secret Service Agents just stood or sat there!

The sole reason for the creation of the Agency is to protect the President.

It is unthinkable to have 10 Agents in the immediate area of the President who did not move an inch and were truly , witnesses to the execution.

Approx...Seven Seconds....an eternity in that situation....lets not talk about the actions of One SS Agent.......... talk of, 8.......not including SS Clint Hill........The Queen Mary was approx 5 feet from the X-100....when shots rang out.

..It carried, SS Agents...McIntyre, Hickey, Bennett, Landis, Ready, SSIC Emory Roberts........and making up the 8 .in the X-100 front seat , SSA Kellerman..and SS Greer as driver....

The only one that attempted to do what he had been trained to ,was SSA Hill, and he heard SSAIC Emory Roberts as he called back SSA Ready, who did attempt to move...but stopped........but SA Cint Hill continued..

The basic training of the SS is to move and bodily Protect the President, at all costs and to take a bullet for him if need be....

.........None of the others moved, including SSA Kellerman, who was good at turning around, to see how things were progressing in the back seat, ducking, and finally telling SSA Greer to get out of there .
Which Greer, BTW....in denying a direct order from his suprerior SSA Kellerman, did not...
and SSA Greer not only turned around once but twice, to see what was happening....in the back seat of the X-100........

True only after the final head shot to the President, did the thought occur to SSA Greer, he has only one way out, straight ahead, and finally acknowledged that direct order from his superior, that had been given previously, and who sat beside him.....in that front seat.

SSA Kellerman's job was to have moved over the back of the front seat, over the Connallys, and throw himself on the POTUS and protect him bodily, at the sound of those shots, he did not.........

Check it all out for yourself......read about the traitorous , criminal actions of the Secret Service that day.
