I'd be interested to know how it compares with Korea in terms of the expat experience. |

Was in Amman last month and I think it would be a superb place to live. Imagine the quality of students to be very high as practically everyone in Jordan can speak English. Cost of living is not expensive and food is good. There is a big shopping mall in Amman with a huge Carrefour and Topman, Zara etc (so its a lot easier to find decent clothes than Korea). Though uptown Amman was really funky with lots of nice restaurants and a few funky bars. Jordanian people are super friendly and very much on the ball when it comes to politics and current affairs. Also Amman doesn't really get that hot in the summer (about 30 degrees in July)especially compared to the rest of the region. I can't really comment on the expat experience though |

I read that in Amman they don't let single guys into the Mecca Mall by themselves... the logic being that they'll harass the women. |

Amman is a pretty funky, liberal town by Arab standards. The mall is pretty cool, saw loads of single men there |

I lived there for a while, but it was about seven years ago, and it sounds like it's changed a bit. There's a mall now? |
