| to nz footy : thanks for the comprehensive updates! You've done a splendid job! I love under 17 football because these lads still play with pride and passion for their countries and haven't been contaminated by professionalism and the cynical nature of the modern game (well almost) I'm still plumping for England (in my heart) but my head says one of the African nations will win it... |

Must be quite the disappointment for tournament organizers. The attendance is definitely going to take a hit.
Guess fans still have NK to chear for. |

What attendances?????
I am just joking....actually the attendances outside the Korean games have been quite good with some games seeing between 5 to 10 000 people.
Of course a lot of these are freebies but at least people are showing an interest.....
have been to a couple of games myself...good fun |

I am just joking....actually the attendances outside the Korean games have been quite good with some games seeing between 5 to 10 000 people.

Some matches have seen decent attendances but quite a few had very poor ones as well. Hopefully the remaining matches can maintain attendances around the 10,000 mark but with South Korea gone this is a real worry
It is certain that Korea will not get the record they were after: the highest attendances of any u17 tournament. The average attendance for the group stages two years ago in Peru was 15,500. This jumped up to 23,000 for the knock-out stages. |

| My wife are planning to go to the Peru v Tajikstan game. Partly to see who wins the bet of the attendance level. Koreans are knows to be sore losers so we will see if they will show up to support an international event in their own country. It would be pretty dam sad if they don't!! |

Off topic but did anyone read/hear the vice president of FIFA state that he would block an England bid to host the World Cup? "Nobody in Europe likes England. England invented the sport but has never made any impact on world football."
Aren't these guys supposed to be impartial.  |

This is from a man who was implicated in profiting from selling tickets for Trindida and Tobago matches at the 2006 WC� don�t remember what happened but someone in his family ran some sort of monopoly� |

| The TV stations are not showing the other games here in Suwon. They showed North Korea get thumped, but the other games are not showing. |

| Been to six games so far...going to Goyang tomorrow and hopefully again on Sunday to watch England on their relentless march to the final...living in Seoul is great because we've had easy access to both Suwon and Goyang...the standard of play has really been phenomenal and youse guys who haven't gone have missed a treat! Most of these players will be featuring for their countries in South Africa in 2010 so you can get a glimpse of future greatness now..at a very cheap price! |

Cheonan can also be reached using the Seoul subway system but it is a long, long ride. Not sure how many of those guys will reach 2010 in South Africa but quite a few certainly will. A few more will be added to that list by the time 2014 in Brazil arrives. |
