Somehow this started while entertaining my niece, who incidentally thinks I'm the funniest and bestest uncle ever..... there's sumfin wrong wit dat kid...

The idea is to have two totally disconnected words... and to link them in rhyming poetry...

The latest two words she gave me were 'goldfish' and 'postman'.... (these words coming about due to her having goldfish at school, and the mail just arriving...)

My effort:
I used to have a goldfish,
I called that goldfish Tess,
one day she bit the postman,
and by gee she made a mess....

the postman's now one legged
to do his job he hops
I still often see him passing
but now he never stops

Next challenge: "Kimchi".... and "bikini".....

The postman's wife had breast cancer,
but then she ate her kim chi,
her breath smelled something rotten
but she could still filll a bikini.

...terrible i know..

On long airplane journeys
i always get the shakes
but it's not a fear of flying
its too many jelly snakes

The jelly snakes are yummy
but the sugar content's high
If i eat too many jelly snakes
I need no plane to fly

Some people like the gummy bears
but they're far too cute to chew
I much prefer the jelly snakes
They're good with soju too....

I....have...to......rescue.....my..............thread.....

Koala Kev was hungry
as he sat up in his tree
so he boiled up some water
and ate ramyeon for tea

It was really quite delicious
he loves korean food
the ramyeon made him fart and belch
which was really very rude

But if Kev had been korean
he would have been ok
because koreans fart and belch alot
it's the culture there they say......

teacher, octopus, beer:

This poem features a teacher
And octopus for lunch
And have no fear, of course there's beer
To wash on down his munch

But, he wouldn't eat his octopus
And he's known as Mr. Wuss
The teacher preacher puss

An attempt Wink

On Sunday mornings for breakfast
My Dad would always fry kippers
He used to scale the poor little fish
With rusty nail clippers

If you think that's bad, it's nothing really
You should have seen him make coffee
Hot water, beans and lots of sugar
It tasted like rancid toffee

To this day the thought of breakfast
Really puts me off my dinner
That means I only can stomach lunch
Is that why I'm getting thinner?

Each morning after I awake,
I sip my coffee hot.
Sometimes the sipping, it will take,
HOURS- but time I've got.

So this one morning, there I sat,
sipping, slurping away,
I soon found I was looking at,
toenail clippers- not a foot away.

I swear the clippers called to me.
They were shiny and silver you see.
I cut and clipped -I couldn't stop,
Then emptied the clippings into my cup.

SIP!

When pegleg Pete the pirate
'came sick of salty seas
he went to climb a mountain
of which he did with ease

But pete was epileptic
and began to shake and spasm
He shakes set off an avalanche
which swept him down a chasm

the abominable snowman broke his fall
(pete landed on its head)
Pegleg Pete went back to sea
and left the snowman dead
