Seoul aesthetically as a city gets a lot of flack on these boards. And justifiably so in some cases.

It's noisy, overcrowded, and the majority of buildings put up on the city were done very quickly without concern for appearence.

But I still love Seoul so much. It's been my home for three years and as a result I've explored a good chunk of the city with friends or on my own, on a bike, on a bus, or just plain walking.

This thread is designed to showcase some of your pics of the fantastic city. And more importantly show the people who biatch and moan about, that it does indeed have some treasures.

I guess I'll begin............

Kyongbuk Palace

A nice little 공원 in Seoul

Namdaemun Gate

Side street in Insadong

Cheonggye Stream

Protestors

Beautiful Olympic Park

A baseball game on a hot Saturday morning

Easily some of my best times in Seoul

You'd be surprised at how many markets you find off the main roads!

Outdoor video games

Hot dog on dog action!

There are also a lot of little mountain parks which offer some incredible views.

Some of the architecture isn't that bad.

The bike trails along the Han River and its tributaries are my favorite things in this city. If you haven't gotten out and explored them already, get your azz out and buy a bike. Trust me, you'll thank me for it.

Yeah 63 Building has some awesome views. You should also check out Seoul Tower.

Seoul looks great to me. It has a unique feeling to it, similar with other Asian cities, that you don't feel in the West. Even if it's more cluttered and strangely layed out.. Some parts of the city really have the homely, yet "another world" feeling.

Flickr doesn't allow for the BBcode that runs this place. But you can fix that up if you're patient enough to edit it to link back like their TOS wants you to.

Anyway, I find the problem with Seoul is that everyone hits the same places so it's hard to find a new view. You gotta go slumming through the back streets

Sanjik Park.

Somewhere between Gireum Station and Kukmin University

Can't remember where.

Around the corner from my place in Beon Dong.
