Man, I really need to get the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. That book sounds awesome.

It really is. I highly recommend it. It has lots of stories that are entertaining, but the best part is the style. His sentences are incredibly long. You have to change the way you read...slow WAY down. You can't let yourself get distracted in mid-sentence or you forget the subject and have to start all over again.

Just come clean just another day. You have a hard on for white women.

It's all good. I have no problem with that.

But I do find it kind of strange that you, a strong Korean nationalist like yourself, is so infactuated with caucasian females.

There are other nationalists on this board who will defend their nation to no end but are infatuated with Asian females. So what's the problem?

just another day takes his nationalism a step further.

Plus how many of come from nations which are essentuially homogenious?

That's the point I'm trying to make.

just another day has made several post related to some kind of Lake Bikal/Mongoloid = i.e. Korean sacred bloodline.

This is some eugenics kind of stuff here. So I just find it interesting for someone to be so supportive of these beliefs, to in turn be so infacuated with non-Korean women.

how am i being nationalistic if i just want the truth of attila and honoria's story to come out?

a braveheart with attila as

is obviously very accurate.

yet look what movies about attila, how he was portrayed.

to me this is the ultimate insecurity, when you can't even portray Attila as an Asian man. Laughing

Hey why not portray General MacArthur as a Korean man? Laughing Laughing

ULTIMATE insecurity. Wink it takes the gold medal.

I see we've moved on from the part where you claimed Atilla was east asian without any evidence. good, good.

I got to say that, that picture mightn't have been too far off if Atilla was of more turkic origin. But it would be better to see him played by a more central asian looking type. That would be a better bet to get it right.

I don't think the casting of Atilla like that is a sign of insecurity, its a sign of knowing your market.

I'm still praying for a 3 part trilogy on Genghis Khan, with mongol actors. That would be cool, if it was big budget and they tried to keep it as true to life as possible. Or even one on Kublai Khan would be good. He really knew how to play into the chinese people, and made himself in the image of the chinese. Behind closed doors of course he was as mongol as ever. It was he who rebuilt Beijing and the forbidden city, which at the time was a mini steppe within the city. Interesting guy.

That picture you have on your avatar is as far as I can tell one of the ones he commissioned to make his family look more chinese. A very very smart man. He knew how to play into the nationalistic ideals of your common and garden idiot. Theres a lesson to be learned there I'm sure.

^ Well western Huns today who claim to be descended from Attila I don't think would approve of that poster where Attila looks 100% white either. but i see what u are saying.

But its strange how its more covered up than anything else. both genghis, attila, and others. of course, i understand that this is probably because of tamerlane, who was pretty ruthless and condoned torture and senseless killings, he tainted the entire mongolian history in the eyes of the west. but tamerlane wasn't even a descendent of khan. he faked it and lied about it, and had no ties to genghis whatsoever. but knowing that, it makes it more understandable why mongolian history is so shunned in the west. tamerlane sounds like a real jerk.

but in the end, genghis and attila both tried to play down their appearances. their thought that their spirit mattered more than anything else.

Well your thread title is a good start.

Plus your insistance that Attila was a direct desendent of East Asians.

And I know how your mind works and what (hint, hint) you were trying to get at.

LOL well no comment on how my mind works.

i said several times that attila LOOKED east asian. his origins are not from east asia of course.

altay mountains are not in east asia. they are in mongolia. lake baikal is in mongolia.

i would imagine that if general macarther was portrayed as korean in korea, westerers would find that ridiculous and say its insecure.

so really i am applying western standards to westerners, when they refuse to acknowledge that attilla was in fact, asian.

So why did you keep insisting that Attila was "East Asian" in appearence? What exactly were you trying to get at by pushing the East asian angle?

I don't think any serious academic would suggest that Attila was not Asian. I think they'd debate the notion that he was East Asian, but I sincerely doubt that anybody with even a basic understanding of history would argue that Attila was non Asian.

And true many Hollywood movies have made horrible portrations of historical characters. Was this rooted in insecurity. Yes, but I think more so in blatent racism.

Just like how Jesus Christ was portrayed as having blond hair and blue eyes. It's absolutely pathetic.

Finally, just remember that Asia is a pretty damn big place and not all it's desendants are mongoloid in origine. The arayans were believed to originate anywhere from Tibet, to Kashmir, to the Caucases. and the semites were believed to originate somewhere in South West Asia.

As a result Central Asia is probably one of the most ethnically diverse places on the planet.

The Mongols genepool is spread throughout the region. Primarily through conquest and rape (which astounds me that you priase a man like Ghengis who was behind this brutality - I feel the same way about Alexander the Great btw) that we now see this gene pool.

btw i loved how people were willing to march and die to protest vote fraud in the ukraine 3 years ago.

Nah man, I'm fourth generation Canadian and I've been pretty well naturalized.

But as I've gotten older I've grown in interest in exploring my own culture.

It's interesting how Koreans and Ukrainians share a lot historically. I mean in terms of being surrounded by much powerful nations which saught to supress or even eliminate thier perspective cultures.

The more I've dwelved into the Ukraine's history, the more aware I've become over just how brutal it's neighbours were to it.

As a result I can somewhat associate myself with Koreans.

But I really try not to turn this historical legacy into my own hatred towards the Russians, Poles, Germans, ect.....

It is what it is, and I'd just prefer to look towards the future than dwelling on victimhood.

Now if only the Ukrainians could put their act together. The South Koreans did a hell of a job (although with a lot of outside help), and I wish the Ukrainians could do the same.

As much as I biatch sometimes about some of the problems I have with Koreans, I far more critical towards my own nation.

So don't take things too close to heart JAD. Please see that I'm not just picking on Koreans. And I also think there's a lot of positives out there.
