A simple search will turn up a couple of threads on it.

We're heading down w the dog & all the goodies on Thur/Fri.

Anyone needs info, just shoot a line here or to me by PM. Weather should be nice, good people, great time out in the countryside.

Regards,

~G~

hahaha -

In one of the threads, I found a link to a vid montage someone has made.

http://efeele.blogspot.com/2006/06/flowfest-2006-irie-days.html

I'm not on decks at any point here, but there is a shot from the balcony from our Pension; several of Judo, Fudge, Reedtea, Rosa self & a bunch of the others drinking, dancing & generally chilling.

I'd say it captured a large part of the 'feel' of last year's FF.

'cept they missed the skinnydippin in the river on Sat/Sun morns (NOT the pools @ Bellagio), and all the bicylcing/blading/minibikes off the main street.

Ztravelbug, run by guys who KNOW how to party, are doing their package sets again this year. This is probably one of the cheapest/easiest options, if you plan on spending a night (as opposed to do the standing train ticket there & coming back the same way) -

http://www.ztravelbug.com/zadventure/su_1.html?mode=view&uid=45&page=1&lm=#

Besides the package, they are probably providing more useful info than the official FF site, at least on the Engrish side of things.

I'll see what I can do about finding a list of those pensions close by, as well, if anyone prefers that to the camping option.

they're not the only ones doing buses though are they? the flowfest site has buses leaving from hamilton hotel as well, but with different times. ztravelbug only has one bus leaving on saturday, at 4pm.

Food options were MUCH better last year than 2005, but they also tried to clamp down on drinks being brought in, which was silly.

There was more security last year, but - in all honesty - SO many performers/organizers got free drink badges that after 1/2 a day, it didn't really matter Smile

Bar NaNa ran a decent drink stand, with heavy-handed pouring.

Also, there are some restaurants not too far away, and generally enough people to walk or ride into town for supplies, a 'better' meal, etc.

We just hit costco & take along stuff for cooking. If you stay/hang out at the Pensions, they all have cooking facilities in rooms, as well as outdoor bbq setups.

last year, they were VERY strict about no fires/where you could cook, at the actual camping area - precautionary because of the tents/drinking combo.

The actual official FF is a pretty sprawled out place - website is here for the pension it is centered around:

http://gangchonpension.com/page/

I just hit stop to turn off the music; NO English page there, but if you can muddle through the Korean, train schedules, driving directions, pics (including a supablur of me in there), etc. are all there.

meh - I may need to go back & redo this all into 1 page -

Ok, unless someone asks something in the next couple of days, I'll leave this link, for pensions in the general area.

http://gwpension.net/home/bbs/board.php?bo_table=pension&page=9&page=1

Some are VERY close to Bellagio/ the FF grounds proper. But you'll have to ask/see. For each of the little pics, if you click the bottom left blue button, you will get a new window w/ the place's homepage.

G.

I'm bumping this cause I'm "drunk" (because I never actually admit to being drunk) on a Wed. morning and anyone at who is awake at this time should also be attending this FEST. FLOW included.

Plus, RSS gives it props which should be enough for you ruffians to go.

We have our same room as last year - the little Daisy teuk-shil up on the 4th floor w/ the deck, chairs & BBQ pit looking out over the river. The English name is Beauty House; Korean is 아름다운집 .

http://www.beautihouse.net/sub2_1c.html

The site there also has pretty good pic of the general area.

Our place is pretty good, but (Reedtea asked me to pass this along), if you plan on getting a pension, try to book it BEFORE you go - rooms are generally only 50-100 a night, but someone who just shows up looking desperate can spend a lot more.

Most of the time, we will be at the FF itself (us & the crew are pretty hard to miss - ask around for Glen & Christina), but if any other DESLers want to catch up, you can try stopping by, or leaving a message w/ the desk there.

Hey, Flash - looks like you are in the general neighborhood. Ever go out into Il-bon ga area??? Club Psycho's expat turnout is making it into the new Rockssin . . .

Where else would I go that would cause me to get home at 4 am on a weekday?

I must be getting old. I've never heard of this thing. How many years has it been going? If I just turn up, is a camping spot a possibilty? Sounds like a pretty good photo op in a nice part of the country. Hope the weather holds out, though.

If MSN weather is to be believed, showers on & off today & tomorrow, moving to partly-sunny Sat & Sunday. Not as hot as the days last year; not as cold in the evenings (I'd still suggest a hoody/summer sweater, etc., tho - layering seems to be a good choice for these events).

This is the 3rd year. About the same time as the underground house parties & events started picking up, Myke, self & a bunch of the gyopo sets started talking w/ 02pro & some of the others about more outdoor events.

Personally, we like them - nice to get out of the usual venues occasionally!

Yeah, you could just show up & camp. weather permitting, I think it is a pretty are of the country. Probably taking my folding mountain bike (not the motorcycle this year) - if you want to borrow it to take off for awhile, just let me know.

Regards,

~G~
