A friend reports a kid called her "Taliban" for not letting him play with his cell phone in class. One of my students wanted me to pretend to slash the throat of the other student while he filmed it with his cell phone. He kept saying "teacher! teacher! Taliban him!"

Speaking of which, why have the Korean hostages fallen completely off the radar. There has been nothing about them for over a week. Their kimchi levels must be declining to toxic levels.....

I head they were being released but then that died pretty quickly. The Taliban are back to demanding prisoner swaps.

Talib is the Arabic term for student, the Arabic plural for student is Tulab.
"an" is the Farsi plural suffix, so Taliban is a bastard Arabic/Farsi word for student.
