I know its 941 won to $1 US today.
I was talking to a friend and they watch AFN all the time, and they said its been in the high 800's range for a while now.
Why would AFN broadcast a different exchange rate than the internet/banks/etc... have? |

Cause that what you'd get at the finance office or one of the banks on base. The military's official exchange rate. Consistently lower than off base. |

That blows... military always gets shafted. Especially those lowly enlisted guys who barely leave base, i bet...
Still, they get to use the px, commisary, etc... and they can buy imported stuff with no tariff. |

I would imagine they get paid in USD, and maybe don't have a passport to change it at banks, so they do get shafted
I'd like to join the military, yes |

Now if they were working for Won and it only took 800 Won to buy 1 US dollar, it would be a good deal. This is what I have been hoping to see this year.
US Army are earning US dollars and have to buy Won to go shop and drink off base. |
