well, that's what one student tried to tell me. he read an article last year. another student chimed and and said he had read something similar.
i suppose nobody can really know without going to the moon and seeing the lander and the flag in person...
but COME ON! |

There are four laser reflecting devices that were left on the moon by four different Apollo missions. Theoretically, if you shined a laser pointer directly at one, it would reflect the light back. measuring the time it takes from the start of the laser send to the reflection back lets you know how far the moon is away and other data. Observatories still do this every year for some reason.
