Hi. My travel agent keeps telling me I can only get a single-entry visa for China, unless I go through a great many steps, including waiting in line at the Chinese Embassy. My question is, why can a travel agent get a single -- but not a double entry visa.
Thanks! |

China rarely issue multiple reentry visas unless you have a very specific reason for going and can show evidence along with it.
My husband has a multiple one but he runs a business that requires him to go to China regularly - the first few times he went to China, he was only allowed to get a single visa... then he was sponsored by a Chinese business associate and was allowed to get a multiple visa.
The travel agent is correct in this case. |

I just got my Chinese visa in Bangkok. If you are American, you have to pay $100 for single entry, double entry or multiple entry. So I checked multiple entry, since I have to pay for it anyway. The lady said, can't have multiple entry except for business. So I said fine, double entry; she said fine.
So if you are America, you have to pay the $100 no matter what and they should give you double entry. This was in Bangkok, Korea may be similar. |
