In any case, you asked to be educated. My experience is that you are rather impervious to it and it would be a waste of time to respond. Your obviously-confused, rhetorical questions and wanderings, above, reconfirm that.

By the way, touche. I missed that spelling mistake. I did mean President. |

| I have a question as to what do the posters on this topic look for in the next president in regards to Foriegn policy. What do you hope for them to achieve in the international arena? |

You can't be serious can you?
What I have read suggests that many Iranians do not really like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or his international agendas. Maybe it would be better for the US to just tell Iran and its people that if they gain nuclear weapons then the US will destroy them and the bases they are stored on without a second warning. Then simply tune Iran out, refuse to give him a stage and stop taking notice of him.
Things that I have read about North Korea seems to suggest that there is as much a need to be recognised by the US and being a world player than any real gain to be had from the nukes they made. Maybe its the same with the Iranian president.
Its like they are attracted to the notion of being the bully of the US, to disuade domestic change by saying "look we have an external enemy so lets pull together", so maybe just ignoring Iran and its president and stop having anything to do with them, might put their issues out of the spotlight and thus reduce their power in Iran. Especially if his term is ending in 2009, remove any chance he has to say "you need a strong leader at this time, so re-elect me or someone like me".
Pull the wind out of his sails and let him face the demands for domestic change at home. |

Well handled, though I'd personally rather see you take bite out of him. |

What I'd like to see
For domestic policy fund scientific , medical and alternative energy research . Tax imported oil and raise the gas tax . Continue the Patriot act and introduce a national ID card. Set up enterprise zones in the poorest areas. Make health insurance tax deductable . Enact tort reform and in many cases award punitive damages payable to the government.
Raise the age to collect social security from 65 to 69. Raise the tax rate on the wealthiest Americans. Fund the space program.
For foreign policy :
Defund the UN human rights comission. Set up a rival to the UN among democratic nations so the US can go "court shopping".
Forgive third world debt to African nations who side with the US at the UN and the war on terror. End all tariffs on African nations who side with the US at the UN and on the war on terror. (That would mean just about every African nation except for South Africa and Zimbabwe.)
End the presidential ban on assassinations. Move US forces to Kurdistan, continue the war on terror, missile defense , next generation military systems, and pursue space based non nuclear strategic weapons. |
