I'm not embarrassed. If there's one thing life has taught me, it's not to take oneself too seriously (as you have)--I freely admit my lack of geographical knowledge of... the Commonwealth, is it? 
And I thought you guys had a sense of "humour." 
I guess Morton is too young to remember Austin Powers, eh?
fwiw it's nice to see that 66% of the teachers here are teaching "proper" English. Go North Americans! |

Wow, this thread is not helping our image as C- averaging losers with no prospects back home.
Quite a few Americans here, which is not surprising. It explains why you guys are nowhere to be seen. You�re obviously stuck somewhere in PC bangs or in your rooms complaining on Dave�s how much you hate life here.
No, seriously, I was under the impression that Canadians outnumbered Americans something like 4:1. |

You obviously didn't take geography too seriously either. 
Austin Powers is English. I'm Scottish. See previous replies to correct your error.
Plus now you're embarassing your fellow country men. "A C-averaging loser." That made me laugh.

Nice. Is the accent coming across quite strong in my written replies. Trouble reading. Trouble with Geography. I'd say you were a D-student at best.
You would have to visit Scotland to get an answer to your question. May i suggest Castlemilk, Glasgow. However i will point out it is a Scotsman who is currently the Prime Minister. But then you didn't know that, did you? Another one to add to the list i guess.
Perhaps an inferiority complex would lead to a nation constantly being at war with other nations. Ring any bells? |

Buick originated as an independent motor car manufacturer, the Buick Motor Company, incorporated on May 19, 1903 by the Scottish-American David Dunbar Buick (who invented the overhead valve engine on which the company's success was based) in Flint, Michigan. In 1904 the struggling company was taken over by James Whiting, who brought in William C. Durant to manage his new acquisition. Buick sold his stock for a small sum upon departure, and died in modest circumstances forty years later.
