"We" is the world community. We need to ensure that this never happens again. I'm sure We can all agree on this. These shouldn't be controversial statements I'm making here, Bob.

Your not-so-subtle insinuations that I wanted these people dead made me question your sincerity. In this context, I fail to see how my "insults" were out of line. But they did make me feel good. |

No, Other Hand. Al Qaeda doesn't discriminate between missionaries, journalists, ambassadors, politicians, or other foreigners who may be traveling through their countries of residence. People much less foolhardy than these missionaries(those who need to be in these countries for political or approved humanitarian purposes) now have an increasing probability of being kidnapped. The aforementioned groups, as well as soldiers fighting in Afghanistan, may suffer from said negotiations.

What's this special pleading on behalf of "approved humanitarian purposes"? For weeks, we have been reading that anyone who ignores the advice of their own government and goes to Aghanistan is a moron who deserves no symapthy. Full stop. Now, we're suddenly being asked to weep for heroic aid workers, endangered by the reckless actions of the Korean government? Interesting time to suddenly bring nuance into the discussion. |

Hand, you're reading more into my words than I'm actually saying.
"Approved humanitarian aid workers" are those permitted and protected by the military and endorsed by the Afghan government. Comparing individuals such as these to the Koreans is like comparing apples and oranges. Actual aid workers, and not missionaries, are needed to help these warn torn countries progress. They are typically a part of the military. For example, Canadian forces do both military actions as well as aid work. I am in favour of Canada's Afghan mission but am not in favour of those who want to preach Christianity against the advice of their government. |

Newflash, a new president is coming in at the beginning of next year. By making an agreement this idiot president ties the hands of the new administration. What if Lee Myeung-bak had intended to extend the stay of Korean forces in Afghanistan? Prior to this the announcement wasnt made within the context of an agreement, which is very different. The core problem here is that the Korean government negotiated with terrorists. They are a joke now internationally.
Also, I wonder how you know what the taliban asked for and what the Korean government negotiated. Are you so naive as to think that what youve been told is the whole story? Wake up. |

| SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea's relief at the release of 19 countrymen held hostage by the Taliban gave way Friday to anger at the victims themselves, members of a Christian church who are being criticized for ignoring warnings against travel to Afghanistan. |

You're a hostage of the Taliban. You're making what could be the final statements of your life. And you write about pining for kimchi and ramyoeon. Gotta love it. |
