Is it possible to use two different torrent clients simultaneously, together, at the same time?
I want to test the speed of two clients (Transmission and Tomato) by downloading the same torrent file.
It's a big 6.6Gig file, so I'm worried things will go wrong.
If it's kosher, would it make any difference that I'm a using a Mac? |

I dont get it...
Why download it at the same time?
Can't you just download one after another and time each one to see which is faster?
Why download such a big file?
Why not download a small file and see which site is faster? |

for the test to be valid the conditions need to be the same, ie. the seeders and leachers must be the same.
downloading a big file will help minimise statistical anomalies.
having both clients installed on the same computer at the same time isn't a good way to go either, ideally you need two separate but identical systems.
i can't answer the question asked, but why don't you try it and find out? whats the worst that could happen? |

be sure to download the file to two seperate locations. If both clients are downloading the file to d://torrents/ then there will be problems
client one should download to location one d://torrents/client1
client two should download to location two d://torrents/client2
you will end up with two copies of the same file but no conflicts. |
