i want to put together a portable desktop setup...
something like... a decent flat panel monitor upwards to 22" that could fit inside a wheeled suitcase and a small ( mini / micro ) tower.
the specs don't have to be super but enough to play a few games
any suggestions?
i don't want to build the machine as i don't have the time and technical skills to futz with compatibility issues of the components, so a ready-made tower with OS and all would be key |

Are you in or close to Seoul?
Pop into one of the shops at the Son-in Plaza across the tracks from Yongsan Station. They can custom build what you want in a mini-tower, while you wait and at very competiitive prices.
Basic core2duo, Nvida 7600 video, 320 gig HDD, CD burner and 2 gigs RAM should run about 400k complete + monitor. |

If you want a desktop in a note book form factor get a sens G10, G15. Just make sure you have either a AMD or Intel Duo core cpu.
Mine has a 17inch monitor, very nice. It is not my main gaming rig but I have been using it as my gaming rig...I just love the way I can reach the 5 USB ports, push it out of the way if I am eating at my desk....I just love it! |

Saw a 19" screen Samsung "desktop replacement" (notebook) at Technomart yesterday for 1 million. Really nice system and it can pack up and go easily.
삼성 NT-G25A/Y170 is the one, I believe.
Its interesting to think that there is a new breed out there now; the desktop replacement (데스크노트). It can be moved around the house easily, and, if you don't mind the weight, can be taken anywhere. Large display, decent graphics, loads of memory, dual core. Not a notebook at all really, but an interesting idea in perhaps limited portability.
For someone who is moving around a lot, this is the go. |
