Make sure you check the speakers of the monitor if you buy a monitor that has the TV option.. Some of the lower priced monitors have horrible sound..

Totally agree with that last comment. I spent 415 000 won for my Zeus BTC 22' monitor and the sound is quite good actually, but my brother in law spent 230 000 I think for his (wanna say Luminos I think) monitor and even at max which is just 40 I can barely hear it, sound sucks. Mine cranks up to 80 and the sound is fine.

sorry this is a little off topic..
i'm thinking of buying a 32 inch lcd/tv. there are a number of companies that offer them but all seem to be the same design and specs. i have seen a couple from haier:

its not very expensive, but before taking the plunge.. i'd like to know if anybody has had any experience with these things? is there somewhere i can actually see these tvs? looking at specs and seeing the actual performance is totally different. i'd like to know at least if the sound is decent and if its realistic to be used time to time as a pc monitor with such a low resolution at 1366x768.

thanks!

I'm thinking of doing away with a 'TV' all together and buying a computer monitor with TV cable connections.

I would need a least a 27 or 28 inch screen.

It looks like Samsung and LG are the only players in this market, but I don't want to spend 900,000won.

Any other options?

Matt

I've had my HP w2207 for a couple of months now, and have been very pleased with it. It has a vivid screen and good resolution.

Mattman, Viewsonic makes a 28" lcd that I have seen listed on Danawa for around 690,000. I am considering it.
