Say like your pickup trucks but tired of destroying the environment? Why not buy one of the new GMC hybrids. Let's compare at the wonderful amounts of gas you'll be saving.

Planet hating GMC:

2007 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 2WD
MPG: 17

Wow that's crap!

Planet loving hybrid version:

2007 GMC Sierra Classic 15 Hybrid 2WD
MPG: 17

Wow that's so much better!

I can't for a moment understand how GM can release a hybrid that has no difference in fuel savings. Other than buying the hybrid so the Earth Firsters won't spark it up in a parking lot, I can't see why you'd even bother.

Some would say that they are purposely under-designing the vehicles to maintain their current cozy relationship with big oil.

I had a '85 Chevy Blazer (SUV) that got 25 MPG city, and 30 MPG highway. They can make trucks that don't use much gas--they just won't have a powerful engine. My Blazer was slower because of the smaller engine.
But people want the faster cars even if it wastes gas.

Truth be told non of the Hybrids have lived up to the hype.

Maintenance costs are through the roof.

Battery replacement is ridiculous.
