I have just a landed a job in Yangpyeong province, and there
are no bars and clubs. It is easy enough to take a bus to
Seoul on the weekend and crash in a hostel, but what to do?
Where are the better baths and saunas?
Where are some karaoke clubs foriengers can have a good time?
Where are some live band clubs?
Is there a hiking group that meets in Seoul?
Where can I exchange my spent English reading novels?
and what else to do?

Search for: whatthebook (exchanging your books) and Itaewon (Westernized party zone).
There is a meetup group for Seoul and a craigslist.
Gwanak mountian is a good hike, and Inwang (butte behind the big palace) is fun too. There are many palaces.
Once, wandering around Seoul Station and the big market at Namdaemun, I spotted what looked suspiciously like a casino. I didn't followup at the time because my feet were dead tired, but did make a mental note....
If you ask such general questions here you will get a few helpful or semi-helpful suggestions, then somebody will start arguing with a recommendation, then there will be flame war, and you will conclude you might as well figure things out for yourself. So why not just cut to the final conclusion and avoid the pointless gorp.... |
