I have just bought a new HP laptop with MS Vista Home Basic as the OS. Everything is all fine and dandy, until it came to uploading my photos from my CF memory card via a card reader.
As soon as I plug the reader into the USB port the sys recognises it as a new item and tries to "install" but cannot. It then asks for an install disk to install the driver. However, the card reader came free with the camera and has no "driver install disk", I have done a search on the Internet for the website of the manufacturer of the card reader, to see if there is a download but with no luck.
I'm wondering if there some piece of "generic driver install software" that is available through the Internet? My search has proved fruitless, which is further limited by my knowledge of computers. |

It's a Fujifilm S9600.
I did manage to download the photos from the camera, but doing it this way didn't download all the info, aperture, exp, shutter speed, e.t.c., which has perviously downloaded when using the card reader. |
