I was mildly amused, but yeah, this clip really wasn't my cup of tea. |

| Normally I would never watch that show, I don't find improve funny, but where they took that skit was absolute genius. Brilliant. |

I guess I'm in the minority too. I watched the show back home when I'd visit my parents, since they love it, but have never really been a fan.
During this clip I was just shaking my head, a couple of "Dear god"s but that was it. My guess is people with that brand of humor would also get a kick out of this:
Glad it could brighten so many days though. |

Loud, camp guy......no spare pairs of pants required for me. That kind of soooooooo gay guy joke is at least 15 years old now and it's been rammed down our throats so much, it's a surprise it's not become old yet. Still, if a loud little girl in an adult male body has brought a smile to your day, that's champion.
If you'll excuse my sexism, this is simply mainstream 'outrageous' women's humor and women with something between their ears will be unimpressed. I suspect other good female thinkers on the board (Chimpum Callao, Big Bird) will take the Kermo view as well. |

Ouch.
So because I allowed a video to break up the monotony of my day, and laughed (heaven forbid), I am now not considered to be a "thinker".

First, since when are little girls that horny? Second, how is this "women's" humour? I'm mystified. |

| Just bawdy humor. I laughed out loud a few times. There's no criteria for what can make me laugh. Anything really. I don't intellectualise TV shows that much. |

I think it's actually homophobia that makes this sort of thing "funny" because it makes everyone so uncomfortable. However, he's not acting gay-- he's acting like a horny squirrel, and it doesn't take any cleverness to pretend you want to hump everything. I watched all seven minutes of it waiting for someone to make a "joke."
I'll take Hard Gay over Richard Simmons any day. Anyway, I just thought I'd add a voice of dissent in case anyone happened to agree. If I'm truly the only one, then I'm pleased this video has made the world a happier place and will stifle my comedic snobbishness. |
I don't know about that. Even if it was a guy and a girl doing it, it would still be really funny and a little uncomfortable. |

| I agree with Kermo. I wasn't offended by it or anything, and I'm not homophobic, but I agree that it was kind of played out. Give the guy some beads and have him move along. |

Wouldn't we all?! HG would try to get you laid. Best wingman ever.
If I recall correctly, this was shortly after Simmons finally came out of the closet and was having a huge amount of fun with his image at the time. Much like how when William Shatner finaly accepted that he was an ass and ran with it into coolness.
I thought it was pretty funny due to the bawdiness and the fact that it was obvious the guy was having a blast with it. |

Just different ideas of what "funny" is, my man. As I always say--No harm, no foul.
And you didn't even comment on my funny-ass picture? Hell, I thought f*cking squirrels was a riot! On second thought, maybe they're chipmunks...never can tell with rodents. Whatever, rodentian pornography is laugh-out-loud funny any day of the week. |

My only problem with this is the repetitiveness of the joke. I was a teen throughout the 90s, so this kinda stuff has been on TV for as long as I can remember. Did I ever find it funny? No, probably not, since it was the 1990s, and being gay or camp had already been about as cool and radical as being the Conservative MP for Chiswick-on-Sea for quite some time.
It's just the same joke repeated constantly. I'm bored of it and it frustrates me that everyone else still finds it hilarious. I click on a thread, entitled "piss funny" and think "oh great" and - sure enough - it's a girly guy again. Doesn't it ever get old? |
