|
|
I've been told that each fortnight I'll have two additional classes after school (actually, the lessons are in school time, but I've been told that I'll be getting paid overtime for it)
My question is for those that have similar classes. How do you differentiate between what you teach in your 'regular' classes as opposed to what you do/teach in these evening sessions.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

You could build off of what you did in the regular class. |

^Ok, but I was thinking of maybe steering away from the kind of pure 'language' approach and introducing the class to different topics about UK culture, maybe introducing the students to some of the different cultural conventions such as cricket and work in new language etc that way.
Think this approach would be permissable, or would it be deemed a bit too informal? |

You could ask what is expected of you. Some culture topics should be fine though. Hagwon textbooks have that kind of thing in them. |

I've already run with the old 'what should I teach' etc line, but was surprised to receive the same reply as the one they gave me for conventional classes i.e.
"Speaky slowly and clearly. Makey interesting"
I've until next week to ponder it. Just thought an idea beforehand of how others deal with these lessons would have been insightful. |

Hahaha. I got the same thing at my new school! I've asked a few times then make a few comments to stop any complaining before it possibly starts. I'm having a problem getting what exactly the teachers want out of the teacher's class. |
