English classroom is being renovated and a snazzy new electronic whiteboard will be installed. I've never used one before and I'm not too sure how I will incorporate the features it has.
How do some of you incorporate it?

A few months ago a 60" one was installed in my school.....its great!!! It's a projector/white board. It displays whatever is on the computer screen, so the English CD goes up on it, websites, whatever you want. You can load up a white screen and then write on it (on the monitor or directly on the big screen). Or can write on top of any other program, i.e. circle stuff while browsing the web.
I could go on and on and on about how much you can do with it. Takes a bit to figure it all out, but its worth it, i think.
Have fun!! |

You can take students photos and draw moustaches on them as well.
Always good for a laugh, don't be tempted to draw boobs on photos of your co-teacher though. They don't appreciate that. |

That sounds like the voice of experience talkin'.
I wish we had those. I just got a projector and use it every class. It's just a tool, like a chalkboard only better. Lots of powerpoints and stuff from online--rather than printing out listening scripts you can just display them overhead. Good stuff. And with what you've got you can fill in the gaps in real time...I envy you. |

All that was great. I had one too last year, but the best feature IMO was the "magic pen" that I used like any other piece of chalk or board marker and wrote on the Big Screen as in any other class. Switching pen colours was a click away, and so was pen sizes, and the eraser.... awesome.
How I miss it so. |

This thing looks/sounds really interesting. I did a search to see if I could find a company stateside that sells/makes them. I have several friends that teach back home who might be able to get the districts to pay for one of these. I'm having a hard time finding an American company, I did manage to find a wikipedia entry on how to use one.

OP I don't know if these directions will help you use yours but good luck.
***Edit***
After doing another search I found a site that's originally in German but if you click the "international" link you can pick which country/language you want. it includes a phone number where you can call for pricing/shipping details.
