That was a pretty stupid little video in my opinion.

Yeah, the rapture is pretty hard to swallow, even harder than the doomsday theory of December 21 2012. There are two schools of thought: One is that Planet X, a distant planet on an elliptical orbit, will come so close to the Earth that it's gravity will cause the Earth's rotation to stop for several days, causing massive tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. Another is that Planet X, a distant brown dwarf on an elliptical orbit, will come close enough to the earth that the ensuing solar battle with our sun will cause massive tsunamis, earthquakes, etc.
Then there are those who say that humans are actually slaves to an alien race who live on planet X, and that they will return in 2012 to reclaim the earth, killing every last human. The Mayans knew this, eh??
Not saying I believe this or anything, but there are lots of people who do.
NB: By "affected" I didn't necessarily mean wanting to convert to Christianity. I guess if it pisses you off then I've done my civic duty. |

I have seen episodes of the Teletubbies more meaningful and convincing than that video.

FEAR.
Religions caught on to this basic advertising ploy quicker than most it seems. |

it makes me remember the Left Behind series that was so popular in the U.S.
i love how all the...sinners, i guess? nonrepentant? in that video fell on their knees and covered their faces like that. in elementary school, my teachers called that "the behind position" and it was the position we would use during tornado drills. |

Yep, I was affected by the video. I laughed myself silly when the preacher disappeared at the same time as the thunderclap sounded.
I tried to be objective about the Left Behind series of books and commenced reading the first in the series. I discovered the title was quite descriptive: it was just like a left behind. Worthless without an opposite and full of...you know.

Fundamentalist Christianity is incompatible with good acting. Fundamentalist Christian videos always have really bad acting.l |

A lot of the descriptions of the rapture in the Bible could also be describing a nuclear explosion. Someone standing next to someone else disappears...I mean, is taken. Happened in Japan. People were walking down the street and some were vaporized and others werent. Crazy.
I always thought it was weird that when they translated the original scriptures from the original texts (few years back) none of the Christians wanted to buy it. The version most people have is a translation, of a translation, of a translation; which is fine, but why wouldnt you want something more accurate? |
