For the last year, Ive been on my universitys Internet network. The powers that be decided to end the contract for faculty housing and let us get our own ISPs. This afternoon the KT guy came to set up my ADSL modem. Speeds were good until tonight: it stopped working for some reason. The LAN light stays on but the LINK light blinks on/off sometimes it stays on for a little while, sometimes long enough to load a web page, then it goes back to blinking. KTs customer support center closes at 7pm. I thought KT had reliable Internet thats not the case tonight, though, and Im hoping this wont be a regular occurrence. Does anyone know whats going on? |

Yes, I have noticed some instability.
Sometimes I can't get daves to load or even hotmail.
One time resetting the NIC worked other times I have had to reboot the laptop.
Most of the time rebooting the modem and/or disconnecting and reconnecting the cat 5 cable.
One time simply going to www.hp.com did the trick.
I think much of this is coincedence.
I think there are problems elsewhere, I never had this many problems with the internet at home with HughesNet or Comcast. |

I'm with KT megapass and there are a few sites I can't get to without a proxy. I suspect, however, anything coming out of Korea is judged as a dos attack/zombie computer spam/etc. and blocked by some site owners. |
