So, new ipods are out today (gonna call my parents to night to get the ball rolling on ordering me an Ipod touch). I'm watching the keynote, and as they show the list of Itunes music stores, I forgot that there isn't one for SK. Why is there so little apple love for SK? No official Apple Store in the biggest city on earth? For a city where people are already paying $30-$40 over price just to get an ipod? A city where I've seen more and more macs popping up around offices? This reminds me of Nintendo. There was no nintendo presence when I first got here. They wizen up and put in an official office, and now you can't go onto the bus without seeing a DS.

So, what the hell is Apple's prob?

Korea doesn't support Apple so Apple doesn't support Korea. Hell, Korea doesn't even support Firefox. To unzip Korean files you have to use ALZip cuz it's the only thing that unzips Korea's own zip file extension (.alz). Why would you use something different than someone else? Are you trying to show individuality?

Samsung supports Apple and Apple supports Samsung.

I heard Samsung provides Apple with flash memory at half price. Other Korean MP3 player-based companies get charged full price. So the companies struggle, some go bankrupt.

Me thinks SK ain't too fond of Apple.

Ha!!! Apple's been doing that for years. Creative is doing fine, as is Samsung and Sony. Don't cry for people who make crappy players.

In Korea there were smaller companies that made MP3 players that went bankrupt. Not sure of the names, but a student was telling me about it. Not sure if those players would've been all that crappy if they had a bigger budget towards better parts and design. Anyhow, I don't really care about Korean companies.

I doubt it...the whole budget thing; the Ipod became popular because its menu and interface weren't *retarded*. If you had an mp3 player around 2001/2002, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Was never a fan of the iPod, didn't like it's design much either. Got it as a birthday present one year, the battery kept dying out on me. Then I got an iPAQ (PDA from HP), costed roughly the same price, solved the battery problem plus got to watch videos and surf the internet with the WiFi.

Apple is great but, not for me~
