In compliance with Dave's ESL Cafe Equal Time Rule, I offer this opportunity for counter argument to the post about George Bush.
Please tell me what we should be grateful for that Bill Clinton did while President of the United States. What do you believe Bill Clinton did that was good for the world, good for the United States, or some policy that touched your own life in a good way.
Please be clear and specific about actions or policies of Bill Clinton or the Clinton Administration, and why we should be grateful for them.
Thank you, Davesters. |

He spoke articulately and was relatively well liked around the world - even in Korea...
Thanks to him, Koreans at least remember one American President that they consider a good guy (even though he came fairly close to unilaterally attacking North Korean bases ...) |

It's not so much what he did do, as much what he didn't do. He was a fairly middle of the road president, bloated some government programs, and got himself caught up in scandals (as opposed to not getting caught in scandals) but he didn't launch into war, didn't erode civil liberties, and didn't appear to have huge corporations giving him a reacharound (seeing is believing in America). His policies might have been economically invasive but not to the point that Bush has screwed with our civil freedoms lately. |
