Hey guys...

Got here a week ago. Looking for a good gym with free weights/machines... I went on a long hunt for one today without any luck. I live near the chil gok home plus... don't want to spend a fortune if I can help it... but if it has extras like sauna or hot tubs or whatever I'd be willing to pay for it!

Also if your reading this but have no idea where a gym in my area would be, do you have any pointers on how to find one? Any help is appreciated!

In Korea, there's a gym every 1 km or less. You just have to know how to spot them. The sign is always written "HEALTH" in Korean hangul. If you see that, then you've found a gym. There should be one a short walk from your home - even in Chilgok.

If you can't read hangul, take a week to learn it and then look for your gym. Gyms in Korea are about 50,000 won ~ 70,000 won a month.

Good luck

You could ask a friendly Korean or your boss to help you find one, if you needed one before you learned Hangul. That way they can also help you sign up for membership.

Thanks guys.

Anyone know of a good method to learn hangul? I found some stuff online but the audio on this computer doesn't work --- believe me its a lost cause until I reformat --- and wikipedia was somewhat useful but definitely not the best organized for learning a language...
