They can marry a Korean, get an F2 visa and begin teaching (provided they have an accredited degree).
If they have a degree in a related field AND they are married to someone here (E2, E7, D8, etc) and currently hold an F3 visa they can apply for permission to ADD a place of employment to their current status of sojourn.
If they are here and are covered under the SOFA agreement they can teach - although not legally - but they will also be ignored if they are caught.
If they have enough money (50 million won minimum investment for the visa approval) they can apply for a D8 investors visa and open a business.
If they are qualified they can land an E7 and be a teacher in a school exclusively for foreign nationals.
If they have a masters or PhD in English or TESOL they can land an E1 as a visiting professor (if they can find a Uni to hire them).
They CANNOT under current immigration policy land an E2 visa as a teacher of a foreign language for English.
Current policy (as outlined in the policy guidebook - available (in Korean) at your local immigration office) clearly states that an E2 visa, as a teacher of English, may only be granted to someone from one of the "approved 7 nations".
Wishing it were different won't make it so. |

| OP- He can teach in Korea, but it will be as an illegal teacher. ANY crooked hogwan that "hires" him will pay him next to nothing, work him to death, cheat him out of every benefit, and his life will be he11. Any "friend" wouldn't do that to another, but if you still think it's a great idea then all I can say is- Next stop- CRAPWON! |

can your fillipino friend speak perfect english without an accent? if he can maybe he can get a job here but it would be illegal nad right now i think they are cracking down hard on that.But if he is like all of the fillipinos that i know and pronounce every english word with a b sound
example. buck you mother bucker!
then complain about not getting the same pay as a native teacher, then do us all a favor and keep him out of korea please |

If he/she has a degree from a university in one of the magic 7 countries, I believe it is possible.
I'm not clear on the exact rules, but I know there are quite a few filipino teachers here and other parts of South-East Asia as well.
I know that some of them are not married to Koreans or covered under SOFA, but they are legally entitled to work here. |

They may also be F3's with permission or more likely F3s working illegally or E6's (entertainers) or D9s (migrant workers) who have gone TNT (quit their original job and no money to get home hence become illegal) then started teaching. |
