How can this not be right?

There isn't a holiday on September 11th.

Well, I've checked around a few other schools, and they're all open. Maybe you have a lot of schools celebrating their anniversary that day. The schools I've been around close on the school's birthday, an IIRC two of the ones I worked at last year had their anniversary in early September.

My two high schools are closed as are two friends' elementary schools in a different city...I just assumed it was a school holiday country-wide...gutted!

I wasn't aware of this one for this year. Is it definitely a holiday?

My co-teacher told me I didn't have to go to school on Tuesday, Sept. 11, since this was a day that many Koreans went to visit gravesites of their ancestors.

The school where my boyfriend teaches also said that the school would not have students that day.

However, I think it really depends on the school/admins, so not every school would be closed.
