The Master's new regenrations:

wikipedia wrote:
With Delgado's death, the Master disappeared from the series for several years. In his next appearance, in The Deadly Assassin (1976), the Master (played by Peter Pratt under heavy make-up) appears as an emaciated, decaying wreck, at the end of his thirteenth and final life. Given the severity of his situation, this Master is much darker than Delgado's version. After this story, the Master again departs the series, returning in 1981. In The Keeper of Traken, the Master (Geoffrey Beevers under different heavy make-up but playing the same incarnation as Pratt[5]) succeeds in renewing himself by taking over the body of the Trakenite Tremas (an anagram of "Master"), overwriting Tremas's mind in the process. Now played by Anthony Ainley, the Master appeared on and off for the rest of the series, still seeking to extend his life preferably with a new set of regenerations. In his first appearance in Logopolis, his scheme to kill the Doctor and gain control over Logopolis accidentally leads to advanced entropy destroying a large part of the known universe (including Traken).

So he just grabbed new bodies for a while until he got eaten by the TARDIS in that TV movie back in 95 or whenever it was.

By the way, Derek Jacobi was a better Master in the two minutes he was there in Utopia than John Simm was for the following two episodes.

Now this is a master:

Anthony Ainley:

Anthony Ainley was a great Master, so it will be hard to reconcile this new 'cheeky rapscallian' with what's gone before. But he's on next week, and I'll try to keep an open mind.

The only thing Eric Roberts ever did that was "good" was get the crap beat out of him in Best of the Best.

He looks like a rapscallian, but he's a much more in-your-face-evil Master, IMO.

Yesterday I watched the episode where the Master becomes the Prime Minister and kills the President of the USA. Quite cheeky he was.

He does kind of work, and in some ways is a bit similar to the new Doctor in his scallywaggyness. Still prefer the Ainley master, but I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. Could be worse.

If you know what happens in the next episode - keep it to yourself until after next week!!!!!!

I just watched 'Last of the Timelords' after having had the plot kept a secret from myself successfully... I loved it, despite having read negative comments about it on the internet. I think it was important to update the Master's character so he can effectively be the new Doctor's nemesis, even though it is, as someone pointed out, difficult to reconcile the character with what came before.

Maybe he lived by the maxim; if it doesn't work, try something else. Let's face it, the Doc outwits his enemies by prattling away like a runaway TARDIS. Then again, he didn't have to worry about the Daleks anymore.

FOX just showed Dr. Who from about 3:30 to 9:30. From when he met up with Rose.

By the way, what kind of English does she speak? There is no 't' in 'mental', among other words.

Why wait until next week? The entire season has been finished for months.

Rose is awesome. So much better than that sniveling help-me-Doctor whinger Sara Jane.

I just watched it too. Fabulous! I'm so sorry the season is over. I never thought I'd say it, but I think there is finally a Doctor who can give Tom Baker's Doctor a run for his money. Tennant makes an excellent Doctor. I hope he continues in the role.

Depends which part of the world you are viewing in, doesn't it.

Hahaha, you cheeky sausage. If only! My little monster is smiling and giggling away, and seems to be a vampyre in training: nocturnal hours + regularly testing out his new little teeth on any available part of my body. Ouch!
