Who agrees that this website is ruined by moaning bas*%rds who just moan and argue?
I have nothing better to do today(sunday) so ill hop on the wagon and start giving out about something. I wont give out about Korea though, just those people who ruin all these threads.
How many fights are going to start on this thread? |

I noticed that a lot of posters here have a condescending tone when people try to respond to anything. I guess it would kill some people to be nice. |

I voted No.
While this board does have a lot of nay sayers, i think it is just that the same bunch keeps complaining over and over again. In actuality, there is a lot of positive people here as well as threads. But those tend to get less attention then the minority of people spreading mass idiocy. |

davehere22--
Seems like you're the one doing the moaning. You're an idiot for even bringing this up. Just what the hell is the matter with you, son?

Would it kill you to put a space or two in your moniker?

Just what gives you the right to be so damned optimistic? There is a lot of positive people here? IS??? I hope you learn to speak the language before you attempt to teach it.

It's a good place to moan though. I think most people try to be pleasant and not a bringdown in real life, or else others avoid them. Here you can moan all you want, and be regarded as a complainer (online), but in person you'd be wiser not to complain too much unless you like being left alone entirely.
The online world: not to be taken too seriously. |

It would seem though that the poll results back him up by a landslide. |

If korea had more things to do for foreigners, and foreigners were more easily involved into society here, you would not see this moaning phenomena.
China, japan, Taiwan- the teachers there are just too busy enjoying life to bicker on the net all day long. Its much easier to make meaningful friends etc there. more going on, socially speaking. Korea is a cultural backwater. You have to put in 100X the effort in Korea to have the same happy life you would find in any other asian country.
Only advantage here is that we're making and saving more $$ than the rest. |

Speak for yourself.
I have a lot of free time and I keep busy doing loads of cool stuff. Some of it is work/professional development related, some of it is hanging with colleagues/former colleagues and some of it is spent with random korean friends. Sometimes I'm just happy being me and my dog down by the lake.
"If korea had more things to do for foreigners"
Like what? Disney World?
My advice would be to look inside your own head for entertainment and not rely on a country to lay it on for you. What kind of 'things for foreigners to do' are you thinking about? |

If you meet a foreigner in Korea who's not registered on this board, they almost always inevitably have the impression that this site is filled with mentally lazy xenophobes suffering from culture shock and homesickness. It's what I thought before I signed up, and it's still a visible element all the time. |

Why is it Korea's responsibility (or ANY other country for the matter) to have things to do for "foreigners"?
If the market is there it will happen. But to expect an entire country to put on a number of events SOLELY for foreigners (if KOREANS wanted these events...said events would be already there) when the number of foreigners attending would be less than one percent of one percent of the population just doesn't make sense.
Plus the foreign population is spread out across the country. Should we have these events in every place there is a foreigner? Not everybody can make the trek to Seoul or Busan or wherever.
Plus foreigners are not a homogenous group. We don't all like the same things. Do you expect Korea to read the mind of every single foreigner that comes into their country and hold an event for them?
Should Korean officials take a poll at the airport? Seriously...did you come here hoping to do the same things that you did back home? |
