Could anyone give me a clue as to how long it will take for us to get to Incheon from Mokdong in Seoul (on limousine bus 603) on a Friday morning? Especially the Friday before Chuseok weekend When does the holiday traffic craziness start?
The posts I've seen here have said anything from 40minutes to 2 hours to get from Seoul to Incheon on the Limousine bus.
Thanks so much to anyone who can give some advice. I get flight paranoia. |

Scheduled traveling time on that route is 100 minutes and the buses run on a 30 minute interval..
If you get on the bus 2 hours BEFORE you want to be at the airport you will be fine.
Calculate 5 hours from pickup to flight time and you have NO worry.
You could probably squeeze by in 3 hours in a pinch if you had to.

If you don't want to mess with the traffic you can get there by rail now. Take the subway to Gimpo Airport then get on the new line that goes to Incheon Airport. 30 minutes from Gimpo to Incheon I think. |

Actually, from Mokdong it would make sense to take the subway. It is only a short hop on the purple line to Gimpo station, transfer and catch the airport line.
It would certainly avoid any / all of the traffic and be less than 1 hour out to the airport. |

I took an express airport bus from Seoul Station to Incheon Airport on August 14, & it took 60 minutes, despite the rain. |

It was the particular bus route (603) that takes the time. It is NOT an express but makes a ton of pickups on the way.
You can drive from Mokdong to the airport in about 1/2 the scheduled bus time and it would take less than an hour by subway. |

Thanks for all the tips. What's the transfer like at Gimpo? Is there a lot of walking/stairs? I just want to take this into consideration with my baggage. |

I wonder if buses will be running or operate limited hours during Chuseok? |

Traffic during the Chuseok holiday will be horrendous. Just knowing this would make me opt for the subway instead of the bus. I usually would do the opposite. I have done both, and usually choose the bus because I'm guaranteed a seat, and that my luggage will be taken care of for me. But then, I'm further away from Gimpo than you are. (I'm in Bongcheon.) Once you're on the train from Gimpo to Incheon, it's smooth sailing. I have NEVER seen it even remotely full. Have a great holiday! |
