I always find it amusing that people find it necessary to state the nationality of their partner by using a letter. It's not just limited to Korean forums Ive seen it used on the Thai forums as well, never noticed it on any of the other Asian forums but then I don't spend much time on there, does it happen for all the Asian nations?

Why is it always men using it for their partners, never really notice women making a point of where their partner comes from. The may mention it in but it's never the first thing the say about the,

I think for newbies it may be a good idea to have a key so that they can understand what people are talking about.

You mean like "K-girlfriend?" I've seen that phrase a lot, but never have I ever seen someone write "my K-wife."

People use it sometimes because it is relevant.

For example:

"I was out with my GF and some old man started yelling at us because we were holding hands"

"I was out with my K GF and some old man started yelling at us because we were holding hands"

Perhaps, not the best example, but you get the point.
