I want to upgrade my old PC and I'm looking to spend between 400 to 500k. I only need the base unit, so for that price what's the best I can get and where can I get it? Come on, make me happy... |

You need to say what you're going to use it for. Games? Video editing? Internet? Downloading? |

for 500k not including monitor you should be able to get a fairly decent system that will be better than the average (non hard core gamer) needs. |

Should have clarified what I want from it. I want to use it for everything from video and photo editing to gaming (I'm not a harcore gamer, but I like shoot-em-ups). Also watching movies, downloading porn etc (so maybe a massive hard-drive is a priority here . |

500k will put you into a core2duo E6400 system with 2 gigs ram, 320-500gig HDD, GT7600 video card (or equivalent), DVD burner, case and power.
800k will put you into a Q6600 or E6850 system. |
