|
|
Years ago I had problems with the connectivity of Macs with broadband. Given SK is so technologically advanced in this respect, I'm not sure it's an issue. But I was wondering, so...
Does anyone have a Mac laptop?
Do you have issues getting service/connection in SK?
I'll be in Pusan, and I haven't bought the laptop yet, but I'm thinking mac for usage reasons.
Thanks for your help. |

theres no problem connecing except dont expect the tech guy to be able to assist you in any way. The only problem is Korean websites arnt formatted for safari etc, 90% of them just will not work. |

All the new macs are windows vista. I'm not sure, but I thought that was supposed to prevent issues with website connectivity. |

As in their interface is windows, and you can get a windows OS. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm simply not knowledgable on that aspect of computers. |

You wont have any problems with a Mac. Since the release of Safari 2.0.1 (and the now even better Safari 3), 99% of all korean sites will display perfectly, just in the same manner a windows machine would.
Also, it should be noted that the most standards (i have a macbookpro in Busan) will be set up with no need for additional setup time. More or less, plug and play in the mac world that cannot be done as easily on windows.
So anyway, you wont have any problems. |

Macs use a proprietary Unix based OS, not Windows or Windows Vista, which are produced by Microsoft. |

I am curious what you are running. I just clicked the link you provided and my mac displayed the site perfectly. Auto-encoding was successful, all scripts, images, and whatnot where there, what is it that doesnt work about it for you?
I am not doubting that your having trouble, im just curious if it may be a setting or update that you might not have?
EDIT: I should note, that i have used this site multiple times before (in respect of t2k's standard use of c3 transactions).

It is in fact, the mighty Charles Bukowski, poet laureate of the down and out.
And all the new mac laptops come with MS vista. Is that just the interface, rather than the OS?
