One of the most frequent criticisms of Koreans that comes up is their public behavior. That said, what public behavior would you like to see change? I will list a few to get the thread started.
- Cutting in lines
- Running at full speed through an extremely crowded area
- Washing one's entire body in the bathroom sink
- Picking one's ear or nose, followed by looking at or sniffing one's finger
- Charging through narrow, crowded spaces, resulting in a head-on collision with another person
- Leaving the door wide open in public restrooms in crowded areas
- Not washing one's hands after using the bathroom (this one is aimed at restaurant workers) |

sauntering. if this country is in such a hurry, then BE IN A HURRY and notice when someone's pretty close to kicking you in the achilles tendon because you're walking 7 abreast with your friends in the mall. |

Don't hit women in public or private (unless they strike you in the privates first or it is in serious self-defense). |

Where I live, I'm really getting sick of the staring (I'm just a tall white man with brown hair). Even 'mature' adults stare at me and don't know when to stop. I'm sick of it. |

I'm much more concerned with private behaviour than public behaviour. |

Oh! I just thought of something...
I was in Busan this weekend and on Sunday went to the bus station to get out of there. I bought my ticket and started walking to where the buses are. As I'm walking I notice this little 2 year old boy with his pants down. His mom is in front of him with a bottle and he's peeing in it. I slowed down and was sort of surprised since I thought that sort of thing had stopped. What really got me was that I had just come out of the empty ladies bathroom and there was a mens' bathroom as well, so this strange event was sort of unnecessary.
So...I'd add like to add moms letting their little boys pee into bottles in public.... |

Ditto. And by private behaviour, I mean internal, mental behaviour.
Talking about changing external behaviour and not internal behaviour is putting the cart before the horse. |

The constant hawking/snorting noise I hear, followed the cringe-inducing "plop" of the spit/snot hitting the pavement is really starting to get to me. Is it really necessary? |

The staring is annoying but seems to stop when I stare back and burst into laughter. |

1) Koreans in a group (co-workers, friends etc) talking about me as if I wasn't there.
2) Koreans constantly (and publicly) refering to my appearance / clothes etc. (Wake up people - this is EMBARRASSING.) |
