Here's your chance to put your political mojo on the line. Predict the candidates in order of who's running for pres. / veep., and tell all who's going to take the race. (Feel free to go into specifics if you like...)

DEMS

Clinton / Obama

REPUBS

Giuliani / Thompson

And the winner is...

Republicans by a safe - not huge, not controversial - margin. I predict the Dems will take an early lead in the polls, but come closer to election time the American public will balk, not wanting to "change horses mid-stream", and stay the course with what they know the best.

Do not know who will win. Clinton will give them all a run for their money, however.

It will come down to a Rudy/Hillary race. As for the veep probably whoever can deliver a state with a lot of electoral votes. Laughing

Dems by a nose.

I'm thinking Reps might pull it out. When it comes to election time, the Conservative Christian movement is good at getting out and voting. Hippy liberals...not so much.

Clinton/Obama vs. Rudy/Bloomberg. Clinton/Obama by a hair.

I don't think the Rudy/Bloomy is constitutionally possible.

I do however feel that any one of the four mentioned in the OP will be a good strong president.

None of them will do a pull out, for all the Rhetoric expect at least five more years of involvement in Iraq.

I would also expect a permanent base to be established there regardless of the next president.

I would expect more attempts at SS reform and Health care with no success should the Dems prevail and higher taxes.

If the Reps prevails more of the same.

The Dems promise quite a bit but I think we know they can't deliver.

The Constitution of the United States of America

Article II Section 1 (para. 3) (Executive Power)

"The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. "

Dems:

Dream ticket Clinton and Obama.
Real Ticket Clinton and some loser.

Repubs:

Giuliani is dead. The religious right won't have him;
With luck McCain and Romney

If another terrorist attack hits US soil the Republicans will do it.

It is kind of sad that the Republicans get no credit for their being no attacks in the US since 9-11.

Well, is it the Republicans or the security services? Is Bushy down on the streets breaking up terrorist cells and preforming surveillance work on his days off? Maybe when Craig wasn't blowing dudes in the bathroom he was chasing terrorists down in DC.

In the same way that Bush wasn't responsible for 9/11, he isn't responsible for a repeat. Intelligence services are more alert. The will stop most, but not all.
