I think the Portuguese Police are grasping at straws. They have no leads or no viable suspects, so they offer the plea deal to the parents just in case they did it. "
Maybe the mom would crack?" they thought.
Now, the shadow of suspicion is on the parents. I don't think they did it at all. |

They are in big trouble.
The British papers have all come out and said that the blood found in the hired car rented after the disappearence of Madelines, is Madelines.
I thought it was strange that someone would snatch a child out of a holiday resort but not for one minute did I think the McCanns might have been responsible.
We in the UK respect doctors way too much which will have had something to do with it, thats why Harold Shipman was free to murder 300 of his patients in Hyde and no-one questioned it.
If it had been a single mother or a working class family unit. They would have been called rotten and not be able to return t the country.
Most people thought 'it can't be them! they are doctors!' and thats the line of thought still with the majority the people I speak to.
I'm going to be more open minded from now on. |

Think this is why they've taken so long to return to the country. Because most people in England them arrested for child neglect.
I think that the tactic used by the Portugese police may have something to do with them having no leads and being hassled by the media since it happened. It's not making them look good and they probably don't care, so let's try a different approach. Try and pin it on the parents.
The thing that has really annoyed me is the constant, rather blinkered approach of the British media. 24 hour coverage of it. I'm amazed they've managed to keep it in the news for so long. It's been a success in PR planning as it goes. Footballers wearing wristbands, t-shirts made up, just ot keep it in the consciousness. |

I was in England and Portugal in August and, yes, I'm familiar with the story. This story is also significant (for me) and unusual for a very trivial reason: my mother is called Madeleine and the name is hardly ever, if at all, in the public consciousness. Even English-speaking adults I meet have never heard of the name (it is French, to be fair).
I find it incriminating that blood was found in the car used by the parents, yet their actions in the months following the disappearance are inconsistent with any kind of guilt.
**re the blood in the car, on September 10th, this was said on the BBC:
Quote: |
Allan Scott, a lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire's School of Forensic and Investigative Sciences, says cross-contamination - or so-called "secondary transfer" - could explain the alleged discovery of Madeleine's blood in the family's hire car.

Not just that, the story has had more twists and turns than a Hollywood movie.
Plus the Mum is most certainly a MILF! |

"Portuguese police are playing down reports that DNA evidence with a 100% match to Madeleine was found in her parents' hire car. "
"....siblings can share as many as 15 out of 20 DNA indicators. "

Yeah, I saw on the CNN ticker this morning that it wasn't a 100% match. |
