Hi, has/is anyone worked/working for a Wall Street Institute in South Korea. I Have been offered a nice looking contract for the Wall Street Institute adult school in Busan. Was just wondering if people with experience with this institute may have any advice/comments/cautions.

Does anyone else know anything about Wall Street Institute??

I just received a very negative personal mail about the institute from an anonymous person. Tho they said they said the have not worked for them.

If anyone knows anything else it would be appreciated.

Cheers

What area of Busan. It's a huge city and there is more than one of them here.

I've seen Wall Street in Semyeon, which is the heart of Busan. I've never heard of anyone attending that school or working for that school, however.

Thanks for all your responses.

Not sure where exactly where abouts in Busan. Was told it was new to Busan so I figured there would not be many. Just wanted to know what their vibe was in general and how well they treat their staff.

I was offered a full-time teaching position in a Busan branch of WSI.

A standard rate of 2.3m is offered to qualified full time teachers - much lower than I had been offered by several other hagweons (who receive much less income than WSI).

I became frustrated because the managers I spoke to did not have the authority to negotiate employment contracts and could not raise the salary to match a teacher's experience.

It turned out that some of the managers have been lobbying their bosses for a while about this very issue.

A quote from a Service Manager I corresponded with told me this:

"Believe me when I say that if [the manager who took my second interview at WSI] were granted the power to offer better packages to quality teachers ..., he would think Christmas had come early. It would certainly make his job a great deal easier if he were able to give more than the standard 2.3m"

The idea is that the higher management is "holding off on bumping up salaries ... since [WSI does] already have a lot of qualified and experienced teachers, [and] they fear the flood gates opening so to speak".
