Or, so they claim. There is a huge display in Hwaseong City Hall entitled Mars Belongs to Hwaseong City! - there are even concept photos depicting Mars as it is now, and Mars as it will be after terraforming and settlement by adventurous Hwaseong City citizens. I didn't have my camera with me, but if anyone lives near City Hall feel free to post a picture of this (it's on the right as you walk in the main entrance).

Indeed, Paji, the people of Hwaseong City are to launch an attack on the planet Mars in an attempt at colonization on the basis that a shared name entitles the Hawseongians - who deem themselves a superior race to the Martians - to have total control of the planet. And don't forget - places on Mars have 4 seasons too! And it's red! Reds go together, Be the reds, and all that caper. Sadly, the people of Hwaseong believe it's because of a shared spiritual special status Hwaseong and Mars share, rather than the tilt of the latter and rotation around the sun. Not the brightest of folks, it would appear, but ho hum. I think they're in for a tricky time. The creatures on Mars aren't gonna welcome the Hwaseongians with open arms and because they know the terrian much better, I see a crushing victory for Mars and Galactical humiliation for the Hwaseongians.
