Not sure if this is a joke, but just found this on the Seoul Metropolitan Police website

"Hundreds of foreign English teachers from Daves ESL Korean job board will get together at a bar in Hongdae, possibly smoking pot, taking some other illegal drugs.

Place: SHOOTERS A N D COCK in Hongdae
Time: 8 pm, September 15, 2007

This will be a good opportunity for the SMPA to round them up. Force them to take urine tests, then check their ARCs, diplomas, tatoos, user names on Daves Korean job board. Look for those obnoxious Korean bashers like Dev, shaunew, etc.. Arrest them all. "

Is there even a daves meeting at the place mentioned?

It's a joke, or more of a mean-spirited prank. This person has been begging the cops to arrest everyone on this site for months now.

He got that from the Dave's meet up thread. I believe that is where the people going had intended to meet.

Some people have no life.

Isn't that the cry of every nationalist in Korea?

"Get'em all! Don't let anyone criticize Korea!"

Well, I'm assuming that no one's actually had to talk to the police over this and that no one will. If the police actually do harass anyone, it'll stop being funny. I think the snitch board's very existence is petty and exhibitionist, an ill advised attempt at PR on the part of the Seoul Pigs. (Why don't they just have an anonymous e-mail for snitching?) I read the latest stuff as a deliberate satire of the snitch board itself, spoofing the more earnest but equally ridiculous accusations that have been made there in the past.

They contacted a friend of mine who runs another message board to ask him if I'm a dangerous character. This was in response to this post:
http://www.smpa.go.kr/smpaWeb/bbs/board/viewMain.asp?code=for_eng&num=598&page=6&s=&c=&sort=&sk=&print=
in which my only crimes were having sex with my wife and listening to music. I'm sure they would also contact the names of employers mentioned, such as Uberscheisse's, and I'd be surprised if Dave Sperling hasn't gotten e-mails from them asking for the real names of the moderators. The police frightened my friend and he told me to stop posting parodies on that board. If you go back a few months you'll find actual parody stuff, like the bearded man and the Americans in disguise. The current stuff is mudslinging intended to hurt people in real life, and we know a bit about the identities of these ba$tards.

Hey Uberscheisse, that songtan33 guy may be long gone, but our good friend Todd Swift is coming back soon.
http://www.smpa.go.kr/smpaWeb/bbs/board/viewMain.asp?code=for_eng&num=602&page=6&s=&c=&sort=&sk=&print=
http://www.smpa.go.kr/smpaWeb/bbs/board/viewMain.asp?code=for_eng&num=613&page=5&s=&c=&sort=&sk=&print=
There was a third that was erased where he told the police to round up all the moderators on this site, as well as a list of pretty well random users.

So if we reported someone on the snitch board for reporting us on the snitch board would that be like a meta-report?

Yes, Sarah. That's known as Post-modern snitching: the snitch within the snitch motif.

I see you're putting your English Lit degree to good use.

Maybe the general and job discussion forums should be password protected to read and post.

They can take that site down any day now. It was nice at the beginning. you could ask a genuine question and be assured (usually) of getting an answer... now there is so much crap and bull shit on that board, I can only imagine how much the guy manning it dreads reading the asinine things posted.

Maybe if they required real name and ID number registration it would eliminate most of the loser trash there.
