The other problem here, RR, is that you are reporting means, not medians. Means can be distorted by outliers; medians would provide a more accurate measure of typical income. Not your fault that it isn't reported right.

RR tends to conveniently forget the fallacies of simple statistics Smile.

Hmmm...let's see...For a typical ESL teacher with a BA...

2,200,000 X 12 = 26,400,000

Free apartment that isn't free since the school has to pay for it...

Maybe W400,000 a month X 12 = W4,800,000

Well, son of a gun...W26.4 + 4.8 = W31,200,000

And all that for minimal qualifications that don't even have to be in the field of employment AND for 30 hours or less a week.

Yea, but when it comes to first year salary how big could those outliners be? One company pays first year employees 100 million and another 10 million - not likely.

Korean salaries having going up, up, up and that is just the way it is.

What would the total pay be if the bonuses were included?

If there is a god, you are not an American.

Having said that, what would be the salary/wage of any of us here in Korea if we went back home and applied for jobs outside the field we were educated in?

I'll help you.

It would be zero. A big fat zero.
