I have recently arrived in Seoul and am wondering if anyone knows of any place where I can buy some creatine/protein/weight lifting supplements. Or better yet, if anybody has some that they will not use or would be willing to sell, please let me know the name/brand of the product, the asking price, and if they are new or used. Thanks so much!!!! I live right by the Jungye/Hagye stop on line #7.

You can find these items on danawa.com or bb.co.kr but, they are expensive at these sites. What you should do is have a Korean friend/co-teacher or whatever join up at either mass119.com or speedns.com and you can order what you want. You need a k-friend cause they won't let anyone w/out a K-ID join. The prices are smack on and they have everything you want, in large quantities as well, if you like. You have to pay 10,000 extra for shipping for your order (big or small, multiple items or not) and you will get it in 3 working days. It's from America and they have all the major brands but it's a Korean distributer. Hope this helps!

Here's another thread that will interest you:

"Duh?" Not necessarily. So what? Eggs beans and rice, tofu, meat, fish, cheese - all these are proteins too. So why take supplements instead of just eating right?

Imagine putting race fuel into a normal family car.

There you go, that's about it.

Eating right is always the best idea.

Some supplements can help. If you're not getting enough protein (and many people aren't), a supplement can help. If you're engaged in strenuous exercise, a post-workout shake with a fast-digesting protein can help you recover faster. Creatine supplementation can help if you're at higher levels of performance.

Really, though, most people end up just dumping money into supps and seeing few results while buying into the common false wisdom that supplements are necessary for performance, development and success.

I used to buy my creatine directly from my gym. The owner was more than happy to place orders to a company in the US. Not sure if this can be done at all gyms. Worth asking.

I'm a vegetarian and my usual protein sources aren't available here.

Rice isn't protein, is it? (EDIT: I just looked this up because I was curious, and rice DOES have protein, but it's incomplete and is stored as fat. http://www.weightlossforall.com/protein-rice.htm ) I've read that eggs lose most of their value when you cook them, I don't like beans or tofu, fish fillets and meat can be expensive and can take awhile to cook, and cheese is mostly fat.

If someone is serious about working out, then it would be difficult to consume the amount of protein that they need to consume each day to build muscle mass and not a lot of fat (which would come with eating certain things).

And the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey tastes makes really good chocolate milk..mmm...
