At 6 o'clock, up near the Hyatt on the other end of Itaewon, the Veggie Club is having its first (in recent memory) dinner party! It's going to be a can't-miss event. I think a few of us veggie ladies should come to the clothing swap and then truck on over to the dinner party together.

Later on, the Dave's get-together will happening, in Hongdae I presume, so it could be an uninterrupted Davestravaganza (tm).

kermo.
are you suggesting attending not one, not two, but three, three! dave's events in one day!?
i dunno if i can handle that much dave's goodness.
and by "goodness" i mean backbiting, gossip, flirtation, and outrageous drunkeness.
i just might have to revert back to vegetarianism for the weekend.

I could definitely use some new things and would enjoy meeting new people too. Forgive the question, but where is Anyang? I arrived just 5 days ago from NYC (USA) and live in Suwon (teach at Ajou Univ.)

Thanks for helping out a newbie.

Anyang Station is 7 stops up from Suwon, so decently close. But the swap is being held in Haebangchon, which is at Noksapyeong station on line 6. Exact directions were posted earlier on the thread.

So.....RSS recently texted me and told me that she was having a swap. I would be totally up for this. I have some things that I need to retire.......like my whole wardrobe, but we'll start with just a few things cause its not really comfortable working naked at a hogwan.....I'll sure the kids would ask questions.

I'm up for it. Most people don't know me but I wouldn't mind going if that's okay.

Yes, to clear things up, the swap is being held at my house in Haebangchon, which is close to Itaewon. The closest station is Noksapyeong, on the brown line.

Please PM me for directions and my phone number. Smile

Okay, this will be my last-call bump...

The swap is happening tomorrow the 15th at my place in Haebangchon. It's looking like it'll be a little cozy - I've got a 2br place, but there will possibly be around 20 people there. Anyway, I think we'll have a great time.

If you haven't yet, please PM me to get directions to my place. On the day of the swap I'll put up signs from the main road of Haebangchon to my place so that you can be sure you have the right street.

So far, the attendees are:

RSS
simpleminds
kuantolin
valkerie
parisny
FlashIpanema
Kermo
silentpartner2
oneofthesarahs
pear thumb
dutchschultz
Dazed and Confused
aquagirl
and possibly pamjane.

Several other people not from Dave's will come, and some people have said they might bring friends. Excellent!

Some people have mentioned that they will be bringing books and DVD's as well, and I think this is great. If you have some you'd like to unload, bring them along.

I'll have hummus, wine, coffee and some other snacks. Please bring something light if you can - just whatever you'd like to snack on as you try on new (to you) clothes.

Any other questions, just call me. I'll be busy today but anytime tomorrow before the swap is fine.

See you all then!

Hiya,

Honestly, with the number of people coming and the sort of space that I have, I'm not sure we're really going to be able to hang very much. My idea was that I was going to set up areas, like a "blouse" area, a "pants" area, an "accessories" area, etc, then as people came in they could sort their own items. A lot of things will probably need to be ironed, yes, but I think that's best done after transporting them home.

I was going to ask people what they thought of how we will manage the swap itself once we got there... for example, maybe the number of items you bring is the number you take, how to deal with what happens if two people LOVE the same item, etc... then I remembered we were all adults and would probably find some creative solution to those sorts of things.

If not, I suppose we could have a dance-off or something.

I don't think I'll need much help with set-up, but I will DEFINITELY need help with clean up when we have items left over. It would be great to have people lug stuff to various donation boxes, as I'm not sure where there are any in this area.

So, in conclusion, bring yourself, bring yer stuff, bring a snack if you can, and let's enjoy.

Oh, by the way, to everyone who got my directions.. the Restaurant Atlant definitely seems to be on its way out, so keep an eye open for "Bike 66" on the right. When you see that, you want to take a left.

Ta!

i dunno if taking out only the amount you bring in is such a hot idea. i know some people are bringing nothing, others are bringing loads of stuff.
dance off for contested items is a fantastic idea though.
anytime i've done it, people just pile stuff in the middle of the room and go for it. actual areas for different types of clothing...that could definitely work! i mean, how organized is that?

Great job!

Looks like I got a friend tagging along. Chow!

As for cats, it depends on the day. Sometimes they bother me, other times I don't have any allergic reactions, esp if they are short haired. It just depends....and I like cats.
