But when I see English teachers (non-Koreans) on the subway and on the street they always look like those people that never left campus at uni or just broke out of their mom's basement. Jesus, I mean are you my peers? I hope not. But then so do you.
Some of the comments I read on this board are genuinely insightful, funny or offer me some sort of minimally thoughtful reading. But many are reflexive vomit from piss drinking comedian monkeys.
Are most English teachers wankers? Is it just me that is beginning to question the collective worth and individual character of the teachers in Seoul?
More importantly, do we as teachers have more or less in common? I'm beginning to think we're all a bunch of wankers for one reason or another. That said, I firmly believe that even a major wanker can be a great human being.
I have read a lot of hostile comments on this board and wanker on wanker keyboard violence. Get fucking real....From what I've seen we all have a lot more in common than not, you bunch of fuckers.
And to those of you who want to flame away, go ahead bitches |

No flame. But I will say that the downturn of this board is more of an indictment of Internet culture than of teacher/foreigner culture, IMHO. |

As I first started to read your post, I was interested in your opinion. You seemed thoughtful.
About halfway through, the incessant cursing and *beeped* words made me stop reading. It is one thing to read about a thoughtful observation of a fellow foreigner in Korea. It is another to listen to needless cursing to "prove" a point. All you proved, in my eyes, is that you are calling out people on their downfalls, when clearly yours is that you couldn't continue a rational thought without resorting to immature, teenage language.
Just a thought. |

I've drank venom, we all have piss in our systems and though I don't like vinegar based dressing much, I occasionally will eat it. I don't recall having the venom and vinegar on the same day, though, so I can't agree with you. Venom, piss and beer, yes. Wine, piss and vinegar, yes. But not venom, piss and vinegar. |

Hey give me a break. Its my first post....ever.
Point taken about the cursing, but the censors are apparently very sensitive.
Trying to prove something with my post? Like what? I can type wanker? Success. Sorry, I actually talk like that in person and in some of the writing I do. You would hate it. You would probably think of myself and my friends from home as beneath you.
I was trying to say that we all have a lot more in common than not and should therefore use this site more often for finding common ground rather than on upping each other with a "I'm better than you because...." |

You'll get flamed for anything you say here, including heartfelt rants about abuse and anything else you 'think' you have in common with the expat community.
Try a post on Britney Spears or peanut butter on toast. Safer bet.
But you did talk some trash that was offensive. |

Had you worded it as your last sentence suggests, I would have been much more inclined to agree with you.
It was just a little odd to hear you saying people are stuck in the "school attitude", or probably never left campus, and your writing suggested the same from you.
I'm glad to hear you didn't mean it as such. |

To the OP:
If you want to distinguish yourself from the 'losers' here on the board, can I advise you not to stoop to their level and tactics?
Just a thought. |
