|
|
Hey,
This is a message to anyone who is legally allowed to teach privates (ie. F2, F4,)
In the next couple of weeks, http://www.youloveit.com is going to be doing a lot of advertising in Korean to Koreans looking for private lessons from native speakers.
So, if you are looking for privates in your area, then you might want to leverage the money being spent to advertise in Korean. What you can do is put up your info on the site. It has the basic info put into Korean as well, so people searching for a teacher will be able to find out easily what you want to charge, what age group, and where etc...
Anyhow, before going ahead with a lot of advertising, we're hoping to have a good group of people who are looking and available to teach privates.
Yes, it's free to post and it only takes 2-3 minutes. You don't have to register or anything. You might want to include your picture, as we all know how important that is here.
Anyhow, hope that helps anyone looking to pick up some privates. And like I said, to keep things legit, I want to remind you that without the proper visa or authorization, it is against immigration laws to teach privately. Good enough disclaimer? Hope so! Now, go take advantage of the money I'm spending!

Teaching private lessons is illegal for foreigners - legal for Korean teachers.
It's not a good idea unless you're looking for a fast ticket out of Korea. |

Yes,
As Tzechuk and Steroidmaximus have stated, legal with the correct visa. That's also what it says in the original post, a few times. Teaching illegally is a good way to get the boot, so do so at your own risk. Thanks for the clarification, thought it was pretty clear in the original!

But, to get these visas, you have to either have been born in Korea or marry a Korean - basically be or become a Korean. Right? |

ALL privates are illegal! unless you have a license with the education department and pay taxes on the legal amount of students you teach.
the maximum allowed is 9 students!
LEGALLY 95% of koreans are illegal private teachers!
and id say 98% of foreign teachers here do privates illegal!
and id say about 2% a year get caught!!!
half the stuff that goes on in korea is ILLEGAL!!
turn a blind eye!!
only way you will get caught is if you piss someone off enough for them to go out of there way to get you busted!!!
isnt it funny how you see those pojangmachas and venders in kangnam everynight and everyday!!??? thats illegal!! but they seem to always be there? what cops dont see them there??? |

I'm so exhausted by the end of the day, I wouldn't want to teach privates anyway. If I was teaching English four or five hours a day, then sure no problem...
My wife has asked me several times to teach privates to my brother in law's co-workers and her church friends, but I tell her what I tell people I work with: "You try working 12-13 hours a day at an office with an hour commute each way, five days a week and then tell me if you have energy to teach privates on weekends." Screw that, my precious weekends are all mine baby. |
