If you are in Seoul, and enjoy singing, there is a great opportunity open to all. Seoul Singers is a choir made up of people from many different countries. Last year we had members from America, Japan, Korea, Austria, Brazil, Jamaica, and I'm sure that I'm forgetting others. We meet every Tuesday, on base at Yongsan. The practices are held Tuesday evenings from 7pm-9pm. We took a break for the summer, and are starting again this coming Tuesday, September 18. We would love to have you join us~ we especially need male voices! We lost some of our tenors from last year. We will have a couple of Christmas performances around the first week of December. Last year we had an awesome opportunity to sing at the American Ambassador's home. No matter how you feel about America, this residence is gorgeous. We also will have performances sometime in the Spring.
One of the benefits that my friends enjoyed last year, was that since you are on base, you are allowed to eat in their restaurants. I can't remember how many times my friends made a run to Taco Bell! lol (It's not my taste, but go for it!) I got my kicks by buying rootbeer and reeses cups from the food court.
There is a fee of $20 or 20,000won, which covers the cost of the music (which you get to keep) and paying the pianist.
It would be great to see you there!
If you have any questions, write to Erika Wooton (director) at

She will be able to tell you which gate to use, and how to sign in your car if you have one. |

Sounds great! I have a friend who would would like to join, he is from Africa, he loves to sing, the only problem is he lost his voice due to smoking and he has to use one of those electronic voice microphone machines. At first his singing sounds kind of scary, but after a while you get used to it and he sounds just like one of those funky hip hop d.j's from the 80's. Do you think you could except him? His name is TENOGO. |

| I'm the kind of person that hates to turn anyone away. I'm not the director though, just a soprano. Maybe if he emailed her and told her about his situation, she could make the decision? That would really rot to lose your singing voice! |

I imagine they would, unless they make an exception and allow him to join. |
