Why are there a sigificant number of Kiwis who get hypersensitive about
their country coming under a bit of good natured abuse?

Granted there are a few who see it for what it is.

The rest of you grow up! If this hypersensitive nonsense were coming from posters of the North American persuasion everyone (included all New Zealanders which would include yourselves) would be in the queue to tell them to stop being so soft and 'arrogant'!

HOW RETARDED ARE YOU? It's not good natured abuse, there's nothing good natured about half the crap you have been saying and to have goombahs like spinoza come in and personally abuse my culture and race is bullshit. you are a freakin idiot, even more idiotic than i have thought for a guy who bummed out of high school.

Indeed, and I'm a Kiwi. The most narrow-minded racist rant in this thread so far has come from a New Zealander (nzerinkorea) and no way in hell I'm gonna back him up just because we were born on the same spot of land. I love my country, but that doesn't mean that I have to like the people who happen to live there. There are dickheads and morons in NZ same as you find anywhere else in the world.

This thread is funny. It's amusing to be psychoanalyzed because of the group you belong to by people who only know that group through a miniscule sampling of those they happen to meet in Korea or on the internet. If you feel that you are an expert about the psyche of an entire nation because of, say, the five people from that country you met in a bar on the other side of the world, then good for you. I'd say your wasting your time, however.

This is part of the reason that I tend to stick up for Koreans around here more often than not, because people here love to deduce grand patterns and theories through the keyhole of their own personal experiences. It's not a useful way to spend your time, and it produces a lot of ridiculous subjects discussed by ill-equipped people. It's like a book club where you are each assigned a page each, and you have to use that to judge the whole book; you have the people who happened to get crappy pages using each other to lend support to their theory that the whole book is crap, while ignoring anyone else who happened to like their page (and vice-versa).

I'd say that to have any grounds in being upset about that, you'd have to resist doing EXACTLY THE SAME THING to other cultures and races yourself.

Yeah, i've been posting a lot lately, one of the perks of the job is a lot of free time, not that you will know anything about that unless you are prepared to give Mr kim a good rimjob in order to get into his good books.

whassamatter eltardo, got your heckles up it's just "a bit of fun".

Well that amounts to online stalking Forrest.

I have no interest in you Forrest, please save your loving for someone who is as gay as you.

I know it turns you on when I respond to you, I bet your keyboard is like a plasterers radio. Evil or Very Mad

OK.... last word, you do know changwon is a god forsaken hell hole don't you? then again, being a pudgy 35 year old high school drop out with no experience doesn't exactly make you a sought after commodity now does it. And err.....about the whole gay stalking thing, i'm personally not that way inclined but if you are worried about it then i wouldn't go round these boards putting up your picture, name, arrival date and area you are going to be living in. I would have thought that was obvious...must be the whole high school drop out thing kicking in again.

Pudgy? have you seen a photo of my body Forrest? Probably just as well as the pupils would be complaining of their teacher stinking of semen! Laughing

I don't think Changwon is a 'hellhole' is it? I think you are exaggerating Forrest - using your Kiwi sense of the overstatment. You want to spend less time on a park bench with your bunch of chocolates and get some perspective.

I've repsonded to you again, get a big tug on now son, I know it turns you on... I'm not a sheep but I'm sure I will do in your obssesive, gay, kiwi brain. Evil or Very Mad

Berjano are you actually serious that you are not even in Korea. Jesus you have to be the biggest thicko around then.
Not only are you 30 something antagonising people, but writing on a forum that you know f all about, you are really some idiot. Idle minds...

Fine if you think you're culture is shit, good for you. That does not give you the right to run down others.
And for all the others who say I'm a racist etc. yes I have been very critical in my assessment of Korea, but I did not come to Korea with such an attitude.
Everything has been gained from my 3 year experience there. I have travelled a lot and have only good things to say about other cultures. Korea in my eyes treats foreigners as subhuman
I have met hundreds of others who have been treated terribly in Korea too and vow never to return. Maybe they just don't have the balls to say it.

Anyway Berjano you're in for a rude awakening when you hit Korea.
One piece of advice-remember to have a full bowel movement before you land...
Plus if I were you I wouldn't go around bashing NZ in Changwon. One of the bars there is managed by a big New Zealander who loves The All Blacks..

Listen Beavis - I have been to your country, it is not 'godzone' it is like Herefordshire - a pleasant place in the middle of nowhere, miles away from all the action.

Some New Zealanders have this annoying habit of slagging your country off while saying 'isn't this the nicest beach you have ever seen' when you say 'oh no the beach in Mollendo Peru is far nicer' they tend to get upset.

You Beavis and your mate Forrest Gump (cestdegrees) have just proven my point.

British people are always slagging off their country, they dn't puff thei chests and get offended, we know what we are all about.

You don't - an thats where the problem is - not with me - with you and the likes of.

God Berjano you are really having a very productive at work today...
Do your co-workers know that you are such a great ambassador for England???
Do they know that they are to quote yourself "living in a toilet."
Will you imparting your pearls of wisdom to fellow Brits in Korea-I'm sure while watching the Premiership and having a pint, they would love to know that their country is a toilet.

Anyway you'll adjust well in Korea if you come from a toilet.
Good luck to you.

I agree with "Billy Pilgrim". Nice to get a balanced perspective for a change. My conclusion that kiwis have sharp claws was correct.

I'm very tempted to start 2 new threads on "everything you hate about Aussies & South Africans." I've discarded any notions of the "What you hate about the US or Canada", as they've both already been done to death.

Oh Billy Pilgrim, it must be wonderful for you being the Mother Teresa of New Zealand.
Thousands of bad "personal experiences" can't be wrong.
Say what you like about me being a racist etc. but in my opinion Koreans are some of the most racist people on the planet.
Good if it's been all sweetness and light in Korea for you, however thousands of other foreigners have not had it so lucky.
Maybe after being assaulted by your boss, or robbed of your pay, or everyday having to listen to being called a monkey just because your skin is a darker shade-just maybe then you may understand.
In my opinion it is all too frequent in Korea after all this board in itself is a testimony.
